The CT Simulation and Digital Twin Technology Field (SDT TF) is seeking a highly motivated Master's student available for 3 to 6 month internship in the area of generative design synthesis. Our Princeton facility is recognized for providing a stimulating environment for highly talented and self-motivated students. You will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving environment. You will be encouraged to think out-of-the-box, innovate and find solutions to real-life problems. Our team has a strong publication record in leading journals and conferences.


**Responsibilities**


o Contribute to research projects that use AI and deep learning (DL) to help design, engineer and manufacture complex real-world systems such as jet engines, turbine blades, printed circuit boards.

o Help advance the state-of-the-art in the field, including generating patents and publications in top journals and conferences.

o Apply AI/DL exploration techniques to large-scale, real-world problems.

o Fast prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of design exploration techniques.


**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**


o A Master's student in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline for research.

o Practical experience in developing and applying deep learning algorithms to challenging problems (not necessarily in the engineering domain). We use a wide variety of approaches, ranging from classification and regression to variants of reinforcement learning.

o Familiarity with Python and at least one deep learning library (Tensorflow, PyTorch, MXNet).

o Familiarity with deep probabilistic programming and deep Bayesian model frameworks (Pyro.ai, Edward) is a huge plus.

o Experience, or at least understanding of, probabilistic Bayesian modeling is a plus.

o Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills in English is required.

o Passion for modern machine learning research and technologies, with a can-do attitude.

o Drive and motivation for career development, as well as openness to taking on challenges are a plus.

o The successful candidate must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US Export Control Law.
